This year’s Plym Chamber Big Breakfast in October was a great success. Almost one hundred chamber members and guests attended Boringdon Park Golf Club to enjoy a fantastic networking event over a full English breakfast, including promoting their business to all those present, and then enjoy captivating talks from our two guest speakers Alison Hernandez, Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall, and Elspeth Hallam, founder of Hugs from Henry, our nominated charity for this year’s event.

We were delighted to host several business networking groups from the Devon and Cornwall area to join forces for the event to raise much needed charity funds. Network Plymouth, Plymouth Business Network, the Federation of Small Businesses and Cornish Partnerships all attended in good numbers.

The attendees enjoyed an inspirational talk and video from Elspeth Hallam about the amazing work by Hugs from Henry to help families of children in the area with rare childhood cancers, and then a fascinating and engaging talk from Alison Hernandez about aspects of her role culminating in a lively Q&A session covering topics from police and crime fighting budgets to road safety and lobbying on road and infrastructure improvements to help businesses in the area.

Plym Chamber is proud to have raised £440 for Hugs from Henry from the event.
