Tuesday 12th May saw the launch of our new virtual Breakfast networking event. We set this up to keep Plym Chamber members connected and to provide regular networking opportunities during the ongoing Coronavirus restrictions. The meeting was open for both members and non-members to attend via Zoom. Sadly we could not provide members with the usual full English breakfast but hopefully you can forgive us for that!
Our guest speaker for the digital breakfast was Michele Marsland of Marslands Accountants, who very kindly stepped in at the last minute to replace our scheduled speaker who was unable to attend due to a last minute booking. Michele was able to provide us with a very topical business update. With several government emails every day since the Coronavirus struck, it has been a minefield for small businesses and Michele helpfully broke this down with the most topical items from the last 2 weeks. We covered Bounce back loans, Furloughing, Discretionary grants and the new self employment income scheme, questions were asked afterwards as well. Don’t forget to use the gov.uk business support finder tool to see what support you are entitled to. Anyone who wants to watch this presentation can do so on Youtube or Facebook.
We are very grateful to Michele for her efforts. If you need any advice on Coronavirus related financial matters then please contact her direct at firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 01752 344582. You can also visit her website here.
The meeting was very well attended and we hope to see even more of you at our coming regular breakfast meetings. Please look out for the mailouts and social media posts and feel free to encourage any other business owners who you think may benefit from joining the Plym Chamber network to join us.
We look forward to welcoming you to our next digital breakfast meeting at 8am on the 26th May. You can view the details and find the Zoom link here.
We are also holding our rescheduled AGM at 6.30pm on Thursday 28th via Zoom and we hope to welcome as many members as possible. Click here for the link and more details.
